How It Started
The original Polish Boutique was founded 15 years ago in Mobile, Alabama, by Amber Rae Forbes Saltz and Mandy Blankenship. Their sister, Ashley Knox, went on to co-own Polish Boutique VB, the first sister store. A decade ago, when Ashley met Sarah Winstead, the two envisioned bringing Polish to Virginia Beach, and in September 2022, that dream came to fruition.
And now, we’re starting our next chapter. On October 8, 2026, Polish Boutique VB became The Lady Ship. The name is new, but the heart of the shop hasn’t changed: same owners, same friendly faces, same spot on Great Neck Road, and the same eye for pieces that keep you polished and put-together, from gameday to girls’ night to everyday. We’re so grateful to the community that has supported us from the very beginning, and we can’t wait to keep dressing you for every season ahead.

Meet The Owners
Sarah Winstead
Hello, ladies! I’m Sarah, co-captain at The Lady Ship Boutique. Opening this store was a long-held dream of mine, and getting to start this new chapter has made it even sweeter! I’ve spent years in the retail industry, but my latest and most rewarding role is being a mom to my son and daughter, truly the toughest job in the world. I’m passionate about fostering creativity, encouraging others, and building a positive community among women, because we all need each other. I’m so excited to bring positivity, community, and beautiful clothing to our little corner of Great Neck!
Ashley Knox
Hi, Great Neck! I’m Ashley Knox, co-captain of The Lady Ship Boutique. I grew up in Alabama and came to Virginia Beach for an internship at WTKR News. While waiting tables at The Freemason Abbey, I met a surfer who became my husband. Today we have two of our own and my favorite days are spent at the beach or out on the boat with them.
Fashion runs in the family. My sisters founded the original Polish Boutique in Mobile, and opening its first sister store here in the 757 was a true honor. As The Lady Ship, we’re carrying that same spirit forward: classic, polished looks with a touch of Southern flair. I look forward to meeting you in the shop and hearing where your next adventure takes you.
